About Dr. Sumita Prabhakar

Dr. Sumita Prabhakar is one of North India’s most distinguished healthcare leaders and the only Gynaecologist in Uttarakhand to hold the prestigious FRCOG (London) fellowship. After gaining extensive international experience in Malaysia and Singapore, she chose to return to her roots in Dehradun to provide world-class care to the women of her home state. A pioneer of "firsts," she established the state’s first Colposcopy Training Centre for Doctors in 2002 and founded the region’s first Advanced IVF Center in 2008, breaking the silence and social taboo surrounding infertility.

As the Founder of MS Galaxy Hospital and President of the Can Protect Foundation, her work spans from high-risk obstetrics and advanced laparoscopic surgery to leading massive free of cost breast and cervical cancer screening initiatives, mobile app for breast cancer awareness Canapp, and training of ASHA and ANM workers. Recognized with the IMA Doctor Achievement Award and the Health Icon Award, she continues to set the benchmark for clinical integrity and compassionate women's healthcare in the Himalayas.
