"When I completed my MCh Neurosurgery from SGPGIMS Lucknow, I witnessed the immense suffering of patients from Uttarakhand — patients with brain tumours, spinal injuries, strokes — travelling to Delhi or Lucknow because no neurosurgeon existed in the entire state.
In 1994, I established the first comprehensive Neurosciences Centre in Uttarakhand — not for personal gain, but because my community deserved better. I declined offers to migrate abroad and returned from a specialised observership at Cleveland Clinics, USA in 1996, choosing to serve Uttarakhand instead. Over 4,000 brain and spine operations later, that decision remains the greatest of my life.

"I believe that quality women’s healthcare is not a privilege—it is a right. After earning my MRCOG from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG), London, and gaining extensive international experience in Malaysia and Singapore, I reached a crossroads. I chose to leave my career abroad and return to the land where I was born and brought up. My mission was clear: to serve the women of Uttarakhand and bring world-class clinical standards to my home state.
Since my return, my focus has been on breaking barriers. In 2002, I established the first Colposcopy Training Centre for Doctors in Uttarakhand, ensuring that medical professionals were equipped for early cancer detection. In 2008, I founded the region’s first Advanced IVF Center. At a time when infertility was treated as a taboo and women were often forced to suffer in silence and isolation, I wanted to provide a sanctuary of hope and medical excellence.
In 2024, the Royal College in London honored these decades of dedicated service by conferring upon me the FRCOG (Fellowship)—making me the only Gynaecologist in Uttarakhand to hold this prestigious international distinction. At MS Galaxy Hospital, this journey continues. My commitment remains simple: every patient deserves the care, delivered with world-class expertise, dignity, and warmth."
